It reminds me of a friend of a friend who was anosmic. He ate the weirdest things because smell didn't drive his sense of taste. Only later I learned it is a genuinely dangerous condition. There's a lot of danger we sniff out.
It's not really a word I learned, but just one I knew. It's been built into me like doover (doohickey) or cooee. Words that we speak but don't tend to write down. That are often "not in the dictionary".

I learned this when learning about the anatomy of the hand. It's interesting how much of our body, not just on the inside, that most people don't have names for. I wonder if that changes how we see ourselves.
