What it pays for
- Keep it running. Servers, the database, the daily email, the domain. Every player who joins adds to that bill.
- Improve the game. Paying developers to build it: new modes, better scoring, brand and UI work, curated words.
- Look after players. Moderation, faster answers on bugs and feedback, and reaching players in more places.

The steady way to keep it going. Renews once a year until you cancel. No minimum term.
One gift, whenever you feel like it. Nothing renews, nothing to cancel.
Keepers
Everyone who chips in is a Keeper. One word for all of it: $20 or $500, once or every year, named on the board or not. It is not a tier and there is nothing above it. It is just what we call the people whose money keeps this game online.
Give in the first year and you are a Founding Keeper. That one stays with you for good. It marks when you turned up rather than how much you gave, so the smallest gift in the first year is as Founding as the largest. The first year runs to August 2027, and after that Founding closes on its own.
What you get is the badge, the board and the game staying free. A Keeper badge on your profile, your name on the sponsors board if you want it, and no ads for anybody. What it deliberately does not buy is an edge: no hints, no extra guesses, no effect on your score or rank. OUTLIER is scored on rarity, and that has to mean the same thing for everyone.
And the support messages stop. Once you are a Keeper, OUTLIER stops asking you — on the board, on your results, in the menu and in the daily email. It is last on this list because it is the least of it: the game costs the same to run either way, and the reason to chip in is the three things above, not the quiet.
Stripe takes the payment. You enter your card on Stripe’s own checkout page, so OUTLIER never sees it. A receipt is emailed every time.
