Tips for finding outliers
Eight ways to climb the leaderboard. The game rewards the rare, not the obvious — play accordingly.
Rare beats long
Scoring is pure rarity — a word 4% of players find is worth more than a long word everyone gets. Hunt the word others walk past, not the biggest word you can spell.
Skip the obvious
RATE, TEAR, STARE — if it jumps out instantly, most players already have it. The valuable finds are the ones hiding in plain sight.
Letters don't need to touch
Any letters on the grid can form a word — they don't have to be adjacent. Scan the whole board, not just neighbors.
Mind the letter counts
You can't use a letter more times than it appears on the board. Two S tiles means two S's, no more.
Hunt prefixes and suffixes
RE-, UN-, -ING, -IER, -EST open up words others miss. A familiar root with an unusual ending is often a rare find.
Spend your guesses wisely
You get ten. Lock in early if you've landed something rare — or push your luck for a rarer word. Locking ends the day.
Uncommon letters carry weight
Words built around J, Q, X, Z, K, or V are far less likely to be found by the crowd. If the board offers one, build around it.
Come back daily
One grid, one day, everyone scored together. Streaks build on your profile, and the leaderboard resets every night — a fresh shot at the top.
