What it measures

Words with Greek roots.

Every player with at least twenty traced words is scored on eight axes, and the one they sit furthest above the median on becomes their type. It is a comparison against everybody else, not a score — nobody is winning at being Hellenist, and the type can change as you play.

Worth knowing

• 1 in 8 players with a Word DNA report is a Hellenist, out of 9,162 who have one.
• The typical holder runs 1.75× the typical player on this measure — 16.3% against 9.3%.
• The top tenth of the type are above 23.5%, and the highest anybody has reached is 48.6%.
• They average 150 found words, 110 of which we can trace back to a named ancestor.
• 893 of them are listed below. 206 have a private profile, so they do not appear.
